CP of the Workers of Spain, PCTE on the entry of more US troops in Rota

The interim PSOE government has accepted the reinforcement of USA military troops in the naval station Rota (Cádiz) with a detachment of navy helicopters, which also leads to the increase of the US detachment in 30 more soldiers. The intentions of the US Government to improve and replace its launcher destroyer warships for more updated and with more capacity ones have been recently announced.

The PSOE goes on deepening in its role as a lackey of US imperialism. A role started with the incorporation of Spain to NATO and which continued, among others, with the signature of the USA-Spain cooperation agreement which rules the relations between both countries regarding the US military bases within Spanish territory.

The PCTE denounces the role of social-democracy currently in the government for accepting a military and strategic movement like this one. It is not possible for social-democracy to talk about peace while the use of our land, water and air in the destabilizing maneuvers of NATO is still allowed. It is not possible to talk about solidarity while leading the world list of arm exporters. Just before the formation of the new “co-operation” government, the PCTE directly points out at PSOE as the responsible of all the consequences for all the peoples in the world caused by this red carpet rolled out for imperialism.

The PCTE opposes to all those maneuvers which place the working class and the peoples of the world before the risk of an imperialist war, thus we reject initiatives like the Euroarmy and we defend the unilateral exit of Spain from EU and NATO. We are decided to build a country free of US and foreign military bases, out of the Anti-Ballistic Missiles Shield, people friendly and committed to peace and solidarity.

El PCTE ante la entrada de más tropas de EEUU en Rota


El Gobierno en funciones del PSOE ha aceptado que EEUU refuerce sus tropas militares en la base de Rota (Cádiz) a través de un destacamento de helicópteros navales, que conlleva también el aumento del destacamento estadounidense en 30 militares más. También se han anunciado recientemente las intenciones del gobierno de EEUU de mejorar y actualizar sus buques destructores lanzamisiles de Rota por unos más modernos y con más capacidad.

El PSOE sigue profundizando en su papel lacayo del imperialismo estadounidense. Un papel que inició con la incorporación de España a la OTAN y que continuó, entre otras, con la firma del acuerdo de cooperación entre EEUU y España que rige las relaciones entre ambos países en lo relativo a las bases militares estadounidenses en suelo español.

El PCTE denuncia el papel de la socialdemocracia actualmente en el gobierno por aceptar un movimiento militar y estratégico como este. No es posible para la socialdemocracia hablar de paz mientras se sigue permitiendo la utilización de nuestra tierra, agua y aire en las maniobras desestabilizadoras de la OTAN. No se puede hablar de solidaridad mientras se encabeza la lista mundial de exportadores de armas. A las puertas de la formación del nuevo gobierno “de cooperación”, el PCTE señala directamente al PSOE como responsable de todas las consecuencias que traiga a los pueblos del mundo esta alfombra roja puesta al imperialismo.

El PCTE se opone a todas aquellas maniobras que pongan a la clase obrera y los pueblos del mundo ante el riesgo de una guerra imperialista, por lo tanto, rechazamos iniciativas como la del Euroejército y defendemos la salida unilateral de España de la UE y de la OTAN. Estamos decididos a construir un país libre de bases militares norteamericanas y extranjeras, fuera del Escudo Antimisiles, amigo de los pueblos y comprometido con la paz y la solidaridad.
